Good Shepherd Insulation
When you raise sheep and have a desire to do something different with the wool they produce, do you
think about log homes? Stan Potter did. He is a Canadian shepherd in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
His company, Good Shepherd Wool Insulation, now markets wool for insulating log homes in five
countries. Available in rope or batts, this material is treated with Boron
which makes it fire resistant and repels vermin and insects. Although Good
Shepherd Wool Insulation costs slightly more than fiberglass, builders report
labour savings substantial enough to make it cheaper overall than fiberglass or Emseal. Savings increase
when builders take advantage of the holding strength of wool by pre-insulating the logs before moving them,
leading to savings on crane rental costs on site.
Potter's company is committed to offering excellent, same day service for his environmentally friendly
product. For more information, contact Stan at 403/845-6705 or send an e-mail to
